Fairly Bare

I haven't posted in a few days, but I'm going to use that Blogger outage as a convenient excuse for some of that time. Otherwise, yesterday was a wash because of my supreme laziness and Friday I was out f my apartment from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., so there wasn't much I could do there. Luckily today I got out of bed at a (almost) reasonable hour and got dressed promptly so that I could go out in search of craving fulfillment. My craving was one for quiche, which was easily found at the Le Pain Quotidien two blocks from my apartment. I had a nice brunch with an individual pot of coffee and quiche and I bought a pain au chocolat for tomorrow's breakfast before heading to the grocery store. But enough about the weekend, here's what I wore Thursday:
Top: Urban Outfitters, Skirt: H&M, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Cardigan: Old Navy, Bracelets: H&M and Kiel James Patrick

I bought this top at Urban Outfitters as a birthday gift to myself. I've kind of eyed those bustier-esque tops for a while and when I saw this seersucker one in store, I had to have it. I really wanted a blue gingham one, but it wasn't in my size, but if it ever goes on sale, I'll be jumping on that one as well. I usually steer clear of strapless tops because, well, there's not much to hold it up, honestly. But this one is tight enough (and has those weird jelly-ish strips to help it stay up) that it's not going to go anywhere. I balanced out my fairly bare top with this longer skirt, which I'm still infatuated with. It's a summery look that I'm sure I'll be reprising once it actually is summer. I made it office-appropriate with my cardigan, which was necessary to stave off chills at work anyway. I can imagine wearing this top on weekends when the weather is stiflingly hot with a shorter skirt or a pair of shorts for roaming the city.
