Whirlwind Weekend Pt.I: The clothes

This weekend was nothing if not a whirlwind, hence the name of this post. I contacted a family friend on Friday letting him know I was in the city (because I'm a terrible procrastinator and didn't do it three weeks ago) and he let me know that he was at his house for the weekend and that I was welcome to come visit. So on Friday night I decided to get up early and take the train. I got up earlier than I do during the week for a 9:45 train out to Hampton Bays and it was well worth it. I had a phenomenal weekend and I have lots of pictures to share. But first, I'll just share my outfits.

Saturday:
Shirt: Gap, Sweater & Skirt: H&M, Shoes: LL Bean

I planned this outfit on Friday night, with a picture of a sophisticated woman on a train (circa many years ago) in my mind. It ended up being a bit chilly for this outfit, and then Saturday night it rained (more like poured), which wasn't exactly ideal. I did love my outfit though.

Sunday:
Jacket & Shoes: LL Bean, Sweater: H&M, Jeans & Sunglasses: Forever 21

Sunday I dressed a bit more casually and a bit more weather-appropriate. It was a gorgeous day - near 60 and sunny - and I spent the day walking around on the beach and through a neighborhood of gorgeous houses and beautiful scenery. I brought another pair of shoes with me, but these LL Bean flats were perfect for both days. They're waterproof and have just enough arch support that wearing them for a long period of time doesn't make my feet ache. I'm contemplating another pair in red or yellow.
