There's a blizzard outside and for some reason my room is freezing, so of course I'm going to write about spring. There's no better time to start thinking about spring fashion than when you're sitting at your computer with your hat, scarf, sweater, shirt, jeans, tights, shoes and toe warmers on. Not only do you appreciate the fashion, you appreciate that look of warmth. And come to think of it, the S/S 2011 collections came out around the same time I was sweating in DC wishing for cooler temperatures. Now I'll write about them when I'm dreaming of warmth.
Tommy Hilfiger was probably hands-down my favorite collection. It's prep with a modern twist - completely wearable just about anywhere you go. Every piece that follows is completely wearable - to the office, to lunch, to the beach (man, I wish I were at the beach somewhere warm right now). I'm itching to get my hands on those sweater vests and that last white dress. Plus how cute would that candy apple red trench be on a rainy day? It's classic and chic - and the shoes are to die for (you can sign me up for heeled boat shoes right now, thanks).
By the way, did you hear that Tommy Hilfiger and Lisa Birnbach are teaming up for a preppy capsule collection (called Prep World) and pop-up shop this spring? I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be in NYC this spring - the shop opens there the day before my birthday!
