This morning I ventured into Chicago to look for the new issue of Lula. The city is just a short bus ride away, and since the university provides a free shuttle that goes between the undergraduate campus and the graduate campus (which is just a block away from some truly excellent shopping) it's really convenient. I hopped on the shuttle around 10:40 and was downtown by 11:10. My first stop was Borders and there I found what I had been searching for (plus two other magazines).
After purchasing my lovely reading material I went three doors down to H&M. The H&M on Michigan Avenue is pretty wonderful. It's three stories, so they have pretty much everything. Speaking of everything, while people in other markets may be complaining about how fast the Garden Collection items are going, Chicago still has an abundance, which made for some fun browsing. I promised myself I wouldn't try anything on and stuck to looking at accessories, but on my way to go make my purchases of a printed scarf and headband with giant flowers (it kind of looks like a small hat when it's on), I saw a dress that caught my eye. It was so delicately pretty that I had to try it on. And of course I bought it.
I think I need to stop making purchases in the near future. I'll wait until after my birthday until I buy any more clothing.
