Color my World

I keep saying I'll do a post on makeup. Well, I'm halfway there. Today I bring you: nail polish.
I'm a big fan of nail polish in all different colors. I generally paint my nails myself, so it's quick, easy and relatively cheap. For any amount of money I can get a bottle of nail polish and change something in my appearance. I've recently been gravitating toward the Sephora by OPI nail polish because of the range of colors and good quality (I was an OPI fan before and when they started collaborating with Sephora I pretty much died and went to nail heaven) but I'll try anything once.

Currently, I have Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander in Chic on my fingers. I bought the bottle because my mom had heard good things about the polish - you're only supposed to need two coats - no undercoat and no topcoat. It's a little thick (probably because of all those coats combined into one) but it looks nice and I'm a fan of the color. It has started chipping a little bit, but since it's me, I don't really count that. I am notoriously clumsy and really, unless I get a real manicure, my nails always chip, even with topcoat.

On my toes, I have A Sephora by OPI color called Ocean Love Potion. I was looking for a teal while I was home over spring break and while this wasn't quite the color I wanted, I'm a pretty big fan of it. Over vacation I painted my nails with the one of the other new polishes I got at Sephora called Cover me in Petals.

I like nail polish because it's an easy way to look festive as well. You can slap on some green for St. Patrick's Day or some pink for Valentine's Day and it's a quick way to get out of seeming like you don't care at all (even if you really don't). Nail polish is also by far the most fun to experiment with for me. Sure, I can put on a crazy color of lipstick, but then I feel the need to take it off before going anywhere. With nail polish, the color doesn't matter - it can be as wild as I want.
