A chair-y tale

As I mentioned last week, Last Thursday I went to the Art Institute of Chicago for an article I'm writing (almost done!). While I was there I saw something very familiar.

This is an Eames chair, made in  . Why was I so familiar with it?

This shot was taken in my parents' bedroom, where there are two of these chairs. While they're not in as good shape as the one in the museum (certainly that one has never had clothing and magazines strewn on top of it like the ones in my parents' room) it's fun to know that the furniture in our house is historically or artistically significant.
