Daydreams

Yesterday I clicked my way over to Anthropologie's web site to look at the March catalog and I was not disappointed. I have a strong affection for Anthropologie, even though I can't really afford it. It's one of those places where I'm perfectly happy just to look but would be ecstatic to actually purchase from.
The March catalog had me wishing for warmer weather since in fashion March is a perfectly logical time to start selling summer clothes even though spring hasn't even started yet. I don't mind though, I can look and dream about more temperate climes. I picked out some of my favorite images from the catalog to share.
One of the things I loved about this catalog was the backgrounds. I almost focused more on the gorgeous backdrop than I did on the clothes. They could certainly sell me a trip to wherever this is.Doesn't this look gorgeous? In my mind I'm standing next to that waterfall, in reality I'm sitting in my dorm at my desk when outside the sky is gray and there is snow on the ground. Sigh.
While I love the clothes, my favorite piece of inspiration from the catalog was the hair in the spread that included this photo. If I style my hair like a botanical garden for spring will I get odd looks? Because I seriously covet this hairdo. Perhaps I'll have to settle for making myself some faux-flower crowns. While the natural scenery was gorgeous, this painted scape is just as beautiful. I don't know whether to focus my eye on the model or on the lush flora in the mural behind her.
One of my favorite things about Anthropologie is how they showcase their accessories. I love the cute nature scenes made from necklaces and flower hair clips paired with the paper (I assume) companions of hummingbirds, geckos, butterflies and fish. It puts me in the mood for spring.
These pictures are so wonderful. I sometimes wish I had a place outside to take my photos or even an indoor place with plants. Alas, there are no open fields or greenhouses on campus, but I'm hopeful that someday I'll live somewhere where taking pictures like this is possible.
