Golden Oldie

dress: vintage, jacket: Banana Republic, tights: Hue, shoes: Urban Outfitters, cape (below): vintage
The weather was fairly nice yesterday and is gorgeous today (well, its in the 40s and sunny, so naturally I'm wearing knee socks instead of tights and have the window in my room open. It's warm to me, okay) so I broke out my favorite brightly colored dress for the occasion. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but this dress was made by my grandmother more than 40 years ago so it has special sentimental value to me. My grandmother died the summer after my freshman year in high school so wearing this dress always makes me feel close to her.
For once, I also paired two vintage pieces. I don't own much vintage clothing, though I would like more. It's hard because while in school I don't really have access to vintage stores or thrift stores that much (no car plus lots of work equals me not getting off campus a lot) so I'm stuck with trolling ebay and etsy. And that's not terrible, it just involves shipping costs and not getting to see things in person before purchases. Anyway, I bought this faux-fur cape back in January and still hadn't worn it, because I was waiting for the weather to warm up a little bit. The weather yesterday was perfect for the cape, since I could just wear a small jacket underneath and not feel cold.
