Super Bowl Sunday

I went for a more casual outfit for today since I knew I would spend a few hours watching football. Okay, that's basically every Sunday during football season, but this is a big game, so it was a conscious decision.

I wasn't rooting for any team in particular today, because my team (the Redskins) are pretty terrible and didn't even make it to the playoffs but I enjoy a good football game so I watch anyway. I wasn't impressed by the commercials so much this year, but I did like Google's input as well as Budweiser's Clydesdale commercial. To be honest, I'd much rather watch a college football game than an NFL game. I was raised as a Notre Dame football fan, basically from infancy, so I'm always drawn to the world of college athletics. As you can see, this outfit is about as casual as it gets with me still wearing a skirt. I've had this denim skirt for years and it always surprises me how short it is. One of the reasons I like longer skirts so much is because I can sit anyway I want in them and not have to worry about anything inappropriate showing. With this skirt it's a little more tricky. It always makes me think about going back to my field hockey and lacrosse playing days and putting on a pair of compression shorts underneath.
