Everyone knows it's windy

Today, Virginia decided to say its farewell to me by acting like Chicago: all cold and wind. But it didn't do anything more than chill me, so I was able to head over to a friend's house and catch up before my departure tomorrow. I always realize how much stuff I have when I pack. Packing makes me want to purge my wardrobe, since I realize how much of it is superfluous. The next time I come back for an extended amount of time, I will probably get rid of some things that I've outgrown, either physically or stylistically. Today I wore a dress that I bought at Forever 21 a few years ago - I know that people call it "fast fashion" and some of it is, but I've been able to keep pieces from Forever 21 for awhile. I guess it varies from piece to piece, but I think if you follow wash instructions and take good care of your clothes, they'll generally keep up. And a little mending never hurt anyone either. I decided to go outside for one last home photo session, but I went without a coat so I only had time for three pictures before the wind chased me inside. I'll be interested to see how I hold up against the Chicagoland winter while trying to wear skirts and dresses.

  1. I love that dress so much!! I think you're right that sometimes F21 has good stuff for cheap. I think that applies to Target and Old Navy too.

  2. I'm with you on Forever21 getting a bad rap for disposable fashion. I have a 7 year old black pencil skirt from there that always gets compliments.
