I've been thinking a lot recently about the future. Maybe it's because I just had my birthday (which was extremely excellent). There's part of me that can't wait to be on my own, ideally in an apartment in the city (New York, preferably). I want an apartment with a kitchen and a place for people to eat. I want to cook wearing a vintage-y apron. Or at least a cute one. I want to serve food on mismatched plates and with mismatched teacups. I want to decorate my apartment simply, but with bright colors and I always want fresh flowers. I want to wear dresses and skirts all the time. I want to have bookshelves for everything. And I know it's completely unrealistic. But sometimes I like to be idealistic. Sometimes, I just have to think that everything's going to turn out okay and that I'll be able to lead the life I truly wish to live.
I also want a puppy. Or five. Just saying.

Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge
Yes, I'm a slacker. But I promise I'm picking back up. Starting today.
So, two days from today is my 19th birthday. The first time I'll be celebrating my birthday away from home, without my parents. I'm still really excited though. Partly because of the planned Cheesecake Factory outing with my fabulous friends and partly because I'll finally get to see what my sister has sent me. She's been working on my gift for about a month and over the past few days she has been leaving me hints as to what the gifts are. Apparently each hint shares at least one element with part of my gift. I thought I'd post the hints here, just to show how crazy and confusing and suspenseful this has been for me. Cause I really have no idea.
hint #1: Gangsta Love - S Club 7
Hint#2: Bye Bye Birdie (Honestly Sincere)
Hint #3: Buddy Holly - Weezer
Hint #4: Just Like Romeo and Juliet - The Reflections
Hint #5: Gossip Girl (1.07)
Hint #6: She's All That (Prom Dance!!)
And I get one more hint tomorrow. Craziness.

Allergies or sickness or something
I'm going to bed. soon. As in, shortly after midnight. Because I'm completely congested. I feel like my head is swollen. I'm so tired and I'm sore and I can't really breathe all that well. So, an actual post for tomorrow, but for tonight, just goodnight.

Rainy days...
I guess the weather kind of matched how I was feeling today. I haven't felt well all day, for reasons I am unsure of. So I thought maybe today I'd write about rainy day music. Things I like to listen to when the weather's gray and I have no desire to go outside. I'm dividing it into two sections: Music that matches the rain, either sad or just quiet and music for when I'm trying to make the day better.
Music that Matches the Rain:
This is Dedicated to the one I love - The Mamas and the Papas
I love this song. It's one of my favorites because it's quiet and beautiful and just...sweet.
Dedicated To the One I Love - Mamas and Papas
Another quiet song that I like on rainy days (and it was a hard choice between this and My Blue Heaven, because that one starts out quiet too)
Divine Intervention - Taking Back Sunday
Divine intervention - Taking Back Sunday
Music to cheer me up:
Earlier I was reading Go Fug Yourself and they had a post about Rupert Everett and how crazy he's been looking lately. Of course, this led me to seek out my favorite part of My Best Friend's Wedding, which, really, every time I watch it it brings a smile to my face. I love the song in its own right, but the restaurant scene just makes it even better.
I say a Little Prayer For You - My Best Friend's Wedding
I've decided to keep this list short, so I'll only do one more song. I have immense love for this song, as cheesy and terrible as it is. It just makes me so happy.
Halfway 'Round the World - A*Teens
Halfway Around The World - A*Teens
I promise promise promise that I'll be more consistent from now on. It'll be awesome.
